WPL Auction 2023: Harmanpreet Kaur roped in by Mumbai Indians; Ashleigh Gardner goes to Gujarat Giants for a hefty sum

As many as 409 players are up for grabs at the auction as five teams - Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz - look to form their squad before the first edition.

The bid started with marquee set of players and the likes of Harmanpreet Kaur and Ashleigh Gardner grabbed the headlines with their hefty price tags.

Here’s how the first four players fared in the marquee set:

1. Sophie Devine (Base Price INR 50 Lakh) – Sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 50 Lakh

2. Sophie Ecclestone (Base Price INR 50 Lakh) – Sold to UP Warriorz for INR 1.80 Crore

3. Ashleigh Gardner (Base Price INR 50 Lakh) – Sold to Gujarat Giants for INR 3.20 Crore

4. Harmanpreet Kaur (Base Price INR 50 Lakh) – Sold to Mumbai Indians for INR 1.80 Crore
