Ishan Kishan celebrated his 25th birthday on July 18, 2023, as he prepared for the second and final Test between India and West Indies which begins on July 20th in Trinidad, and received a hilarious request from captain Rohit Sharma on his big day.
Kishan made his Test debut in the first Test in Dominica and only managed 1* before Rohit Sharma declared the Indian innings. India went on to win the match by innings and 141 runs, meaning Kishan didn’t get a second chance to bat. But he was impressed with his work behind the stumps.
Ishan Kishan celebrated his birthday on Wednesday and when Rohit was asked what he plans to gift his India and Mumbai Indians teammate, he left the young wicketkeeper-batter in splits with a big request instead.
“Kya birthday gift chahiye bhai tereko? Sub toh hai bhai. Team ko puchna padega. (What do you want brother? You have everything. Will have to ask the team. We should ask the team about this. It should be the team’s contribution.
Birthday gift tu hum logo ko dey bhai 100 run karke (You should give us a birthday gift by scoring 100 runs)," Rohit can be heard saying in a video shared by BCCI.
Ishan Kishan has played 14 ODIs, scoring 510 runs including the highest score of 210 and in 27 T20Is, he has 653 runs with 4 fifties and best score of 89.
