Notably, India qualified for the final of the first two WTC editions but failed to cross the final hurdle on both occasions.

While India lost to New Zealand in the inaugural WTC final in 2021, they endured a crushing 209-run defeat at the hands of Australia in the WTC 2023 final at The Oval last month.
