After having a couple of training and net sessions in Barbados, the Indian team got down to business as they played their first practice game amongst themselves to get a taste of the conditions in the Caribbean.
In the first of those match simulations, the top-order batters - Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane - and the frontline bowlers - Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammed Siraj, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja - were divided into two different teams.
Virat Kohli started well against Ravindra Jadeja and appeared to be in full control against the pace of Unadkat and played his variations well. However, the former India captain faltered when the veteran left-arm seamer changed the angle and went around the wicket.
Kohli was dismissed by Unadkat when he pitched one around the fourth stump and got it to go straight. Kohli tried to prod at it with no assertive foot movement and edged the ball to second slip for an easy catch.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal both hit unbeaten fifties before retiring out. They both looked in sublime and silken touch with the bat. Shubman Gill batted at No. 3 in this match.
As for the bowlers, Ashwin and Jadeja bowled long spells and so did Unadkat, who got the wickets of Rahane and Kohli. Rahane got to bat twice in the match and after an early dismissal in the first do, batted much confidently the second time around.
