Team India take a victory lap | ScreengrabTeam India outclassed West Indies in all departments of the game to register a thumping 88-run victory in the fifth and final T20I in Florida on Sunday (August 7).

It was a dead-rubber match for the visitors as they had already taken an unassailable lead in the series. Hence, they went into the game without their star players, including skipper Rohit Sharma, swashbuckling batter Suryakumar Yadav, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

In Rohit’s absence, Hardik Pandya led the side and the Indian team put on a flawless performance under him to clinch the series 4-1.

After the resounding victory, Indian players stole the show with their post-match celebration. They hopped on a buggy for a victory lap around the venue. Rohit, R Ashwin and Dinesh Karthik also arrived at the presentation ceremony in the vehicle.

The official handle West Indies Cricket tweeted a video with the caption: "Sharma, DK & Ashwin arrive to the medal presentation in style. Congratulations to @BCCI on the series win."

Coming to the match, the tourists rode on Shreyas Iyer’s 40-ball 64 and Deepak Hooda’s 25-ball 38 to post 188/7 in 20 overs after opting to bat first.

In reply, West Indies’ innings folded for a paltry 100 in 15.4 overs. Shimron Hetmyer was the lone fighter with the bat, scoring 56 off 35 balls while the next best score was Shamarh Brooks’ 13.

India’s spin troika of Akshar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, and Kuldeep Yadav turned out to be the nemesis for the hosts. While Bishnoi (4-16) took four wickets in his 2.4 overs, Kuldeep (3-12) and Akshar (3-15) returned with three scalps each.
