WI v IND 2022: Wasim Jaffer, Harsha Bhogle react as luggage problem delays start of second T20I

The second T20I between India and West Indies will now start two hours late.

The second T20I is scheduled to be played in St Kitts | GettyCricket West Indies (CWI) pushed back the start of the second T20I against India by two hours because of “significant delays in crucial team luggage” arriving from Trinidad.

The second T20I is scheduled to be played in St Kitts on Monday (August 1). The match was originally due to get underway at 10:30 AM local time (8 PM IST) but it will now start at 12:30 PM local time (10 PM IST).

“Due to circumstances beyond CWI’s control, there have been significant delays in crucial team luggage arriving into St Kitts from Trinidad. As a result, today’s match 2nd Goldmedal T20 Cup match is due to start at 12:30 pm (11:30am Jamaica/10pm India),” CWI said in a statement.

“CWI regrets any inconvenience caused to our valued fans, sponsors, broadcast partners and all other stakeholders,” it added.

Meanwhile, former India opener Wasim Jaffer saw a funny side of the recent development as he posted a tweet that left the fans in splits.

In his tweet, Jaffer shared a picture featuring the captains of both teams – Rohit Sharma and Nicholas Pooran. He also added some texts in the photo which reads, “Ye hai tumhari full proof planning?” as Rohit was seen having a chat with Pooran.

“Match delayed by 2 hours cos of luggage arriving late. #WIvIND,” Jaffer wrote in the caption.

Veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle also shared his thoughts after the start of the match got delayed by a couple of hours.

“Today's game is delayed by two hours because the luggage hasn't arrived. True,” Harsha tweeted.

Having won the first T20I in Trinidad, Team India are leading the five-match T20I series 1-0.
