Indian skipper Rohit Sharma gave a hilarious reply when he was asked for a reaction about Pragyan Ojha’s comments on Shikhar Dhawan.

Dhawan may have lost his place in the Test and T20I side but he has arguably been one of the finest top-orders batters India has ever produced.

Dhawan remains to be one of the key batters for India in the ODIs and recently led a young side to a 3-0 ODI series win against West Indies. He was good with the bat as well, scoring two half-centuries in the three games.

But questions were still raised regarding Dhawan’s spot in the Indian side. Many said that the southpaw doesn’t fit in Rohit’s aggressive brand of cricket template.

However, Ojha didn’t agree with this and said that skipper wants the senior batter in India's ODI World Cup set-up because they both have very good partnerships.

Recently ahead of the first T20I against West Indies, Rohit was asked about Ojha’s comments.

“You old friend Pragyan Ojha has commented that the way Tendulkar and Ganguly' professional relationship turned into a friendship by opening the innings together, Shikhar and you have part of a friendship too. Tell us something about it?," Rohit was asked by journalist Vimal Kumar.

Replying to this, Rohit gave an epic reply and was left surprised about the fact that Ojha has become a commentator.

"Pragyan? Pragyan aaj kal commentary karne laga hai kya? Sahi hai, chalo achhi baat hai (Pragyan? Has he started doing commentary? Well, alright, it's good)," Rohit said.

Rohit then talked about the possibility of Dhawan making it to India's squad for the Cricket World Cup 2023.

He said: “See, whenever we play, whoever is the partner, we all try – not just I and Shikhar – that the understanding remains good, and that transforms into a good friendship off the field.

“On the field, obviously, all the players come together to play but off the field also, it is important that all the players stay together, have fun, pull each other’s legs and that is what lifts the environment of the team. So that is also one of our areas of focus as to how we keep the atmosphere light and enjoy because you won't get this opportunity enough,” he concluded.
