Former India skipper Rohit Sharma is all set to make his international comeback on the tour of Australia next week. The Men in Blue are slated to play three ODIs and five T20Is Down Under.
Having retired from T20Is and Tests, Rohit is now only committed to play the ODI format for India. His last appearance for the country was in the Champions Trophy 2025 final win against New Zealand on March 9.
Ahead of his much-awaited return, Rohit is fine-tuning his batting skills in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park. During his practice session on Friday (October 10), the veteran opener hogged the headlines with his heartwarming gesture for a kid.
In a video doing rounds on social media, Rohit was seen yelling at security personnel trying to forcefully stop a kid who tried to get close to him.
The 38-year-old was packing his kit after the training session when a kid tried to run towards him. The people responsible for Rohit's security stopped the kid. Seeing the kid being held forcefully, Rohit shouted and asked them to allow the boy to meet him.

Earlier this month, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee took a tough call of removing Rohit Sharma as India’s ODI captain.
Despite leading India to the Champions Trophy triumph earlier this year, Rohit was not considered for the leadership role when the selectors sit together to pick the ODI squad for the upcoming Australia tour.
With the ODI World Cup scheduled in two years’ time, the baton was passed over to Shubman Gill, who was also named the Test skipper following Rohit's retirement in May 2025.
While Rohit continues to feature in the 15-member squad as a specialist batter, it’s unclear whether he is in the scheme of things for the quadrennial event in South Africa.
