It looks like Ishan Kishan is having fun playing county cricket. With two fifties in as many red-ball matches in the County Championship Division 1, the India wicketkeeper-batter has already made a mark on Nottinghamshire.
Ishan even had the opportunity to roll his arm over during a playful moment during Wednesday's draw with Somerset in Taunton.
In a single over, Kishan bowled spin, both leg-spin and off-spin. He mimicked Harbhajan Singh's famous move by bowling from over the wicket to Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who was batting in the 140s, for his maiden ball in the County Championship. Kishan was remarkably accurate at the Bhajji impression.
After that, Kishan used a few traditional off-spinners before moving to the area surrounding the wicket. He bowled leg-spin from that angle, channeling Shane Warne. The umpire kindly decided not to mark a wide after his last delivery sailed far wide of the batsman.
That turned out to be the last over of the game. Kishan's sole over ended with figures of 0 for 1.
Here is the video:
Ishan scored 77 runs with eight boundaries and two sixes while playing a lively middle order. He blasted 12 fours and a six in another draw while scoring a scorching 87 off 98 balls in his County debut against Yorkshire last month in Nottingham.
Even though Kishan hasn't played for India since November 2023, he is preparing for any chance that might present itself during the 2024–25 campaign.
