As one of the Chennai Super Kings' most ardent supporters, S Badrinath has previously joked that RCB won't win the IPL before 2025. The 2008 season marked Badrinath's fifth debut, and he remained a member of the team until 2013. Badrinath won a Champions League Twenty20 trophy in 2010 and two IPL wins with CSK in 2010 and 2011.

He has also been a strong critic of CSK’s biggest rivals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and has slammed them on various occasions. Therefore, it was natural that he received criticism from RCB fans, as the franchise finally broke its 18-year drought and won the IPL 2025 title.

RCB achieved the feat by defeating Punjab Kings in the final of the tournament on June 3 in Ahmedabad, and Virat Kohli and co. celebrated wildly after the win.

Therefore, a few RCB fans, who were present during a Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2025) match, saw S Badrinath and decided to tease him with RCB chants and waving the franchise jersey towards him.

Badrinath, engrossed in the media team, looked at the fans, smiled, and gave a thumbs-up sign before continuing with his work.
