Shai Hope has returned to the West Indies Test squad for their upcoming three-match series against Australia, starting June 25 in Barbados.
Hope, who leads the team in white-ball formats, reclaimed his place in the Test side on the back of his stunning exploits in white-ball cricket.
The squad announced on Wednesday (June 11) features newcomer Kevlon Anderson from Guyana, who impressed selectors with his outstanding domestic performances.
"I'm excited about the inclusion of young prospect Kevlon Anderson, who comes in after solid seasons in our domestic competitions to help provide stability in the top order, while the return of Shai Hope is welcomed given his consistency in white ball cricket," said West Indies coach Daren Sammy.
Hope's Test career numbers show 1,726 runs across 38 matches, including two hundreds and five half-centuries.
The notable absentee from the squad was veteran pacer Kemar Roach, who has picked up 284 Test wickets. Shamar Joseph, who played a key role in the West Indies' historic victory against Australia in the Gabba Test last year, retained his place in the squad.
The series, which is part of the 2025-27 World Test Championship cycle, will continue with matches in St George's and Kingston for the second and third Tests respectively.
