Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, has categorically denied rumors of a falling out with skipper Rohit Sharma, claiming that the accusations are unfounded and the product of social media narratives.

Speaking at the ABP India At 2047 Summit, Gambhir confronted the matter head-on at the 2047 Summit, emphasizing that his and Rohit's relationship is based on professionalism and respect for one another.

“Yeh sirf kuch logon ne jo YouTube channel chala rahe hain, ya jo ‘experts’ bane baithe hain TRP ke liye bola hai. We won the Champions Trophy just two months ago—imagine if we hadn’t. What kind of questions would you be asking me then?” Gambhir said.

He expressed shock that there are still rumors of a schism circulating after the team won a significant ICC championship under his and Rohit's leadership.

“Just two months ago, a coach and captain won the Champions Trophy together, and now you're asking about my relation with Rohit. I respect him as a human being and a cricketer. What he has done for India is incredible. I’ve had a lot of time for someone like him since the day he came into the team, and that won’t change,” he added.

Gambhir also responded to rumors that he had a professional relationship with Virat Kohli and other senior players.

Regarding the much-discussed friendship between the two, he grinned and stated, “It’s just two Delhi boys having fun. If that’s a problem, I’ll tell the BCCI to stop posting about it.”

Gambhir's remarks silence skepticism and bring the team's accomplishments and goals back into the spotlight, reinforcing the close working relationship between India's coach and captain.
