Pakistan pacer Hassan Ali has apologized for his viral catchphrase "King Kar Lega", which he came up with in 2023 to praise Babar Azam.
This tag of ‘King’ was given to Babar a few years ago when he was scoring runs consistently. However, it has come to haunt him lately due to an extended lean patch, with fans, experts and some former cricketers using the same to taunt him.
Hassan’s phrase has also become the butt of jokes as fans now use it to troll Babar on social media.
Addressing the issue during a Pakistan Super League post-match press conference, Hassan said, "If people think saying ‘King Kar Lega’ was a mistake, then I apologise to all fans, including Babar."
Despite the negative reaction, the fast bowler stood by his words, stating, "He was the best, is the best, and will bounce back soon. Everyone goes through tough times."
Hassan Ali also made it clear that he is not at all bothered by the trolling and online abuse.
This isn’t the first time Hassan has extended his support to Babar. Last year, he had said, "He is my king, he is the king of Pakistan cricket... I know people may abuse me again, but he is the best batsman of Pakistan and he has proved it."
