Rohit Sharma, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, and Ravi Shastri were just some of the Mumbai stars who attended the MCA function to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wankhede Stadium.
The occasion included a special portion in which Mumbai's cricketing legends, past and present, expressed their fond recollections of playing at the historic stadium. Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, Rohit Sharma, and Ajinkya Rahane were among the cricket legends called to the platform.
The seating configuration onstage was separated into three sections: right, center, and left. When Ravi Shastri took the stage, he sat on the left. Moments after, Rohit Sharma came, and in a show of respect and goodwill, the Indian captain asked Shastri to relocate to the center seats, recognizing his stature and services to Indian cricket.
Many people on social media have appreciated Rohit for his courteous gesture toward Shastri; Rohit was an important member of the Indian team during Shastri's tenure as head coach.
In the same event, Rohit addressed the fans after being asked to offer a farewell message before the Champions Trophy. The Indian skipper stated that the team will do "everything they can" to "bring back the trophy" at Wankhede Stadium.
