Ben Stokes, the England captain, was left red-faced and helpless as he was stumped in his team’s second innings against Pakistan in Multan on October 18, 2024. Pakistan defeated England by 152 runs to level the three-Test series 1-1.

Pakistan had batted first after winning the toss and posted 366 with debutant Kamran Ghulam making 118 and Saim Ayub making 77 runs. In response, England made 291 with Ben Duckett scoring 114 and Sajid Khan taking 7/111.

In their second innings, Pakistan slammed 221 runs with Salman Agha top-scoring with 63 runs and set England 297 runs to win. However, the Pakistan spin twins Sajid Khan and Noman Ali wreaked havoc on England's batting.

Only Ben Stokes (37) and Brydon Carse (27) managed significant scores as England crumbled to 144 runs and lost the Test by 152 runs. Noman Ali picked 8/46 and completed 11 wickets in the Test, while Sajid Khan took 2 scalps to finish with 9 wickets.

One of his major dismissals was England captain Ben Stokes, which became a memorable moment for Noman. However, it was not just the achievement that stood out; it was the strange manner in which Stokes was dismissed, which left everyone, including the batter, dumbfounded.

The event occurred in the 28th over when Stokes chose to forego his regular sweep or reverse sweep. Instead, he advanced down the track, slogging over midwicket. Noman bowled a flighted delivery that spun swiftly, sliding between bat and pad while remaining low.

Stokes misjudged the ball, losing his bat and balance in the process. Pakistan's wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan quickly recovered the ball and smashed the stumps, leaving Stokes stunned.
