Rohit Sharma has begun his preparation for the upcoming three-match Test series against New Zealand. Rohit had recently led India to a 2-0 Test series win over Bangladesh and got some respite as India is currently playing Bangladesh in T20Is.

Rohit is preparing for India's next match against New Zealand, which starts next week. Before going on national service, the Indian skipper trained in Mumbai.

Rohit was in good form in the video he published on Instagram, smashing the ball into the net. However, before the grind began, someone could be heard asking the Indian captain if he wanted to hit the opening ball for six.

Rohit responded instantly, asking, "Pagal ho gaya hai kya?"

Earlier on Thursday, PTI reported that Rohit could miss at least one Test in their forthcoming five-match series in Australia. He reportedly notified the BCCI that he may miss one of the first two Tests in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy for personal reasons.

The Australia trip begins on November 22 with the first Test in Perth, and the second Test on December 6 in Adelaide.
