Suryakumar Yadav’s catch to dismiss David Miller was one of the highlights of India’s T20 World Cup 2024 final win over South Africa in Barbados on June 29.

The current Indian T20I captain held his nerves and plucked an incredible catch inches away from the boundary line at long-off. Just when the momentum was taking him beyond the ropes, Suryakumar showed remarkable presence of mind as he released the ball before coming back to complete the grab.

Since that thrilling T20 World Cup final, several players have tried to emulate Suryakumar's exceptional skills on the field.

Recently, Pakistani cricketer Saim Ayub attempted to pull off a catch reminiscent of Suryakumar's brilliance. However, his efforts ended in vain and the video of catching blunder went viral on social media.

The incident took place during the Champions Cup 2024 match between Panthers and Dolphins at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

Dolphins batter Muhammad Akhlaq launched a high shot off Usama Mir's bowling and Saim, positioned at long off, successfully caught the ball. However, in an attempt to imitate Suryakumar's style, he inadvertently threw it beyond the boundary ropes and ended up conceding six runs.

Saim Ayub's failure to hold onto the catch triggered a wave of trolling on social media, with many slamming him for copying Suryakumar Yadav.
