MS Dhoni, legendary India captain, has picked Jasprit Bumrah as his favorite bowler currently in the world.
Bumrah is on a break after featuring in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 winning run in the West Indies and the USA. He finished the tournament with 15 wickets and was named the Player of the Tournament as India ended their 11-year drought of ICC trophies.
MS Dhoni attended an event and was asked to name his favorite bowler. However, he didn’t call any batter his favorite saying that the country has no dearth of batting talent as everyone leaves him amazed.
“Current favorite, it’s easy to pick a bowler since Bumrah is there. It’s difficult to pick a batter because we have several good batters but that doesn’t mean bowlers aren’t good. It’s difficult to pick one among batters as whomever I see batting, he looks the best but then I see someone else who also looks great. As long as team India is doing fine, I don’t want to pick a batter but I hope they will keep scoring runs. However, I have picked my favorite bowler,” said Dhoni at an event.
Bumrah’s 15 wickets in the T20 World Cup came at an average of 8.46 and an economy of 4.17. The pacer also registered the lowest economy by a bowler in a single edition of the T20 World Cup with a minimum of five matches played.
