India’s ODI and Test skipper Rohit Sharma is quite a character. His one-liners caught on stump mic often spark memes on social media.

Not only the fans, Rohit’s teammates also enjoy his one-liners and banter. In fact, India’s new T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is eagerly waiting for Sharma to crack witty remarks in the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Notably, Suryakumar led India to a 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka in his first assignment as full-time T20I skipper. India will now face Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, where Rohit will lead the visiting side.

Ahead of the 50-over series, Suryakumar Yadav wished good luck to Rohit Sharma and stated that he will be keenly waiting to listen to his one-liners on the field.

“All the best for ODIs, I will watch the complete series and will wait for your one-liners. I know you will be standing near the stump mic, there are several new guys in the team. Hopefully, we will get to listen to several more one-liners,” said Suryakumar in a video shared by the BCCI.

Rohit Sharma retired from T20Is after the T20 World Cup win in the Caribbean. However, he continues to remain the captain in ODIs and Tests.

Besides Rohit, the likes of Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav and Shreyas Iyer will also be seen in action during the ODI series against Sri Lanka, slated to get underway on August 2 in Colombo.
