Hardik Pandya earned his redemption at the Wankhede Stadium as the crowd that had booed and jeered him during the IPL 2024 when he led the Mumbai Indians, was seen chanting his name during the Indian team’s felicitation ceremony.
Hardik Pandya also showed a grand gesture of standing up from his seat and applauding India captain Rohit Sharma when he talked about him during his speech at the ceremony.
Speaking to popular sports presenter Gaurav Kapur, India skipper Rohit gave a massive shoutout to Hardik for propelling the Men In Blue to World Cup glory with his match-winning final over.
“Hardik was bowling the last crucial over for us. Hats off to him for that last. You know how many over you need to defend, there is always so much pressure to bowl that over, hats off to him,” Rohit said.
Rohit was in the middle of his statement when the Indian captain revealed Hardik's name, and Wankhede let out a deafening shout to celebrate the Mumbai Indians captain's World Cup final exploits.
Hardik Pandya stood up to acknowledge Rohit Sharma and the crowd that was cheering for him.
