Veteran Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim made fun of Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews during the team celebration after the hosts defeated the visitors in the 3rd and final ODI to clinch the series 2-1.

Players from Bangladesh were seen getting ready for the photo shoot in a widely shared video following Najmul Hossain Shanto's trophy collection. 

Mushfiqur Rahim acted out the scene from the contentious ODI World Cup match between two teams last year, exactly like Angelo Mathews did when he showed the umpire his damaged helmet.

The actual incident had happened during the ICC World Cup 2023 match between the two sides. Then Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan had appealed for a time-out against Angelo Mathews for failing to get ready to face the ball within the allotted time after his helmet strap broke. 

Despite his repeated requests to the umpire and Bangladesh team, Mathews was forced to return to the pavilion when Bangladesh refused to withdraw their appeal.

The incident had led to a lot of bad blood between the two teams which already had a heated rivalry surrounding the Naagin dance celebrations.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will meet in the field once again when they face each other in a 2-match Test series, staring on March 22.
