India captain Uday Saharan engaged in a verbal altercation with Bangladesh bowler Ariful Islam during his 116-run stand with Adarsh Singh in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 match on Saturday.
The incident happened during the second delivery of the 25th over when Ariful was bowling his second over. Uday Saharan effortlessly paddled a full delivery to short fine leg and took a single. Strangely, Ariful appeared visibly frustrated and uttered some unkind words directed at the Indian captain who had reached the non-striker end.
The India captain didn’t shy away from confrontation and gave it back to the Bangladeshi bowler. The altercation between Saharan and a Bangladeshi bowler escalated quickly. The umpires had to intervene to douse the escalating tension.

However, opener Adarsh Singh and captain Uday Saharan smashed half-centuries to take India across the 100-run mark. The pair added 116 runs for the third wicket before Adarsh was dismissed on 76.
There were other incidents where Bangladesh players were seen giving fiery send-offs to the Indian players.
