Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is not leaving a single chance to tease his former teammate Shoaib Akhtar over his past statements on the national players these days.

Notably, Afridi and Akhtar played together for the Asia Lions in the recently concluded Legends League Cricket and won the LLC 2023 trophy in Qatar.

Earlier, Afridi took a dig at the Rawalpindi Express for mocking Babar Azam for his weakness in the English language, and now the former all-rounder made fun of Akhtar for his bold statement on the star pacer and his son-in-law, Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Actually, Afridi dealt with a number of injuries last year, and he even had to leave the field midway through the 2022 T20 World Cup final against England, which possibly cost Pakistan the coveted trophy.

After the match, Akhtar suggested that Shaheen should've taken injections or pills and continued the game.

"If I was in his place, I would've bowled those 12 deliveries and become Pakistan's biggest celebrity; a national hero. I would come to bowl, I would fall, break my knee, and blood would be streaming from my face, but I would've got up again, had an injection, and returned to bowl," Akhtar had said back then.

Now, Shahid Afridi has trolled Akhtar for his comment on Shaheen in a video shared by the former Pakistan pacer on his Twitter account last week.

Afridi said: “That day, Shoaib Akhtar was giving an interview and said that if I had been in Shaheen's place, I would have played. I said, no doubt, he took so much pain for bowling for Pakistan. But look, my brother has taken so many injections that he now can't even walk.”
