WATCH- Chetan Sharma exposed in sting operation; speaks about big name players taking injections to get fit to play games

Chetan Sharma is the current BCCI selection committee chief.

Team India during practice | TwitterFormer India cricketer and current chief of the BCCI selection committee Chetan Sharma has made some big revelations in a sting operation regarding doping and mentioned that many big-name players take injections in order to get fit for matches.

As reported by Zee Media who conducted the sting, Chetan Sharma claimed that many players in Indian cricket take injections to get fit even when they are not. Apart from this, Chetan also admitted that huge stars, whose names he didn’t take, also take injections. And that they have their own doctors outside of cricket who are available for them at their beck and call.

The players are not fit but they take injections to play. They are ready to play even at 80 percent fitness. They take injections and start playing," Sharma was seen on Zee News channel.

Sharma was also heard saying that nearly 80-85% of players are unfit during the selection time, and that’s when they request the selectors to keep them in contention. He also said that players are given fitness certificates by NCA even when they are not 100% fit to play.

This leaves the selection committee to make the final call on the player’s inclusion in the team.

"Players can't clear medical tests but don't want to miss matches. They take these injections as pain killers get caught by anti-doping agencies," Chetan Sharma further added.

This revelation by Chetan Sharma in the sting operation could have huge ramifications for the BCCI and might even get the ICC involved in the issue as well, the report said.
