Talat was stranded at batting end after Sikandar Raza had sold him the dummy.

Hussain Talat had no chance to get back safely back, but Dahani missed the stumps | PSLThe PSL 8 (PSL 2023) got underway on February 13, 2023 in Multan with a thriller of an opening match between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans just after a glittering opening ceremony enthralled the crowd present in the stadium and watching across the globe.

Chasing 176 to win, Multan looked set to derail Lahore's title defense in the tournament opener with set batters Mohammad Rizwan (75) and David Miller (25) looking certain to knock off 49 needed off the last five overs but Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf dismissed both batters and eventually won the match by one run.

However, the match wasn’t without its funny moments and one such incident involved pacer Shahnawaz Dahani. Lahore was 130/4 in 16 overs, and Dahani came to bowl. Raza tapped the first ball of the over down the pitch but his partner Hussain Talat charged down the wicket. He was more than halfway down when he realized that Raza didn't move, and turned back.

Dahani had picked the ball and had all the time in the world to run and dislodge the stumps, but he tried to throw the ball at the pegs and missed it altogether, giving Talat a life. Shan Masood was seen telling Dahani to throw underarm instead of throwing over the arm.

Commentators couldn’t believe what they saw with Waqar Younis exclaiming on-air: "They are both at one end. He could have just run. WHY? WHY? God". The other person on mic said: "Oh it's bad, it's really bad."

Raza then took the attack to Dahani, hitting him for a six and a four.
