Ritika Sajdeh, the wife of cricketer Rohit Sharma, slammed the media after photos and videos of Rishabh Pant went viral, which were taken right after he met with a terrible accident in Roorkee on Friday.
Pant was traveling from Delhi to his home in Roorkee to be with his family for the new year but met with an accident which resulted in him suffering serious injuries to his face, back, knee and ankle, while his vehicle was gutted in the fire.
The keeper-batter is currently undergoing treatment at a specialty hospital in Dehradun and the hospital bulletin has said that the results of some vital scans of Pant have come out normal and he is "stable, conscious, and oriented".
However, media outlets have been constantly running some gory photos and videos of Rishabh Pant. Some of the videos show Pant’s face covered in blood while he looks dazed, while some photos taken in the hospital show the extent of injuries on his back and a bloodied bandage on his head.
Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh was disgusted by the media’s behavior and took to her Instagram story to condemn media houses and asked them to stop sharing the images and videos.
“Shame on you for posting images and videos of someone who’s hurt and unable to decide whether or not they want that out there. They have family and friends who were terribly affected by these images. There’s journalism and then there is plain insensitivity,” Ritika wrote.
As per the BCCI release, Pant has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe, and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.
