Rishabh Pant was all over the news on December 30, 2022, after it was reported that he had been in a terrible car accident while traveling from Delhi to Roorkee to be with his family for the new year. He was driving his Mercedes GLE coupe which hit a divider and tumbled and slid on the road at high speed.

Pant, with help of some locals, had to break the window of the car to escape the vehicle, before it got engulfed in flames and was gutted. Shortly police and an ambulance arrived and he was taken to a nearby hospital for X-rays and initial treatment.

BCCI said that Rishabh Pant had two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and had also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

He was then shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun where he is undergoing more treatment and is out of danger and stable.

Thus far he has received wishes and prayers from all over India and the globe with his Indian teammates, Indian cricket fraternity, and international cricketers, both past and present taking to Twitter to pray for his speedy recovery.

It was reported by police that Rishabh Pant had apparently dozed off while driving the car and lost control which resulted in the accident and him suffering serious injuries.

In the aftermath, an old video featuring Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan for Delhi Capitals is going viral on social media in which the two are taking part in a fun Q&A game.

During the game, Pant can be seen asking Dhawan for a piece of advice that he would like to give him. Shikhar then says, “Gaadi aaram se chalaya kar (Drive with caution and slow)”.
