Du Plessis was bowled by Dooley for 32 runs as Scorchers were chasing 173 runs | TwitterHobart Hurricanes captain Matthew Wade apologized to Faf du Plessis of Perth Scorchers after the former Proteas batter was left fuming when Wade yelled ‘bowled’ before the ball had hit the stumps in the BBL 12 match between the two sides.

Faf was castled off Patrick Gabriel Dooley in the fifth over of the match; however, even as the ball hadn't yet hit the stumps and was mid-way through the pitch, Wade, who was standing behind the wickets, yelled ‘bowled’.

Du Plessis was seemingly distracted by Wade’s shouting and was bowled and was rightly displeased with the keeper’s antics. He even tried to get his attention as Wade ran to celebrate with Dooley.

Faf was dismissed for a fiery knock of 32 off just 15 deliveries in the 173-run chase.

Here is the video:

It is illegal to distract a batter during delivery and there were some suggestions that the ball could be declared dead. Following the end of the game, though, Wade issued an apology to the South African star.

I think (du Plessis) was disappointed I called 'bowled' maybe a little bit early. I don't know how early it was, but I think that's why he was annoyed ... apologies Faf,” Wade said after the match.

Hurricanes won the match narrowly by 8 runs with Dooley taking 4/16.
