Despite a good effort with the bat from Dawid Malan and England bowlers, the T20 and ODI World Champions suffered a crushing loss.

Cummins won the toss on his ODI captaincy debut and chose to field first. The decision proved to be correct as Australian bowlers reduced England to 118/5 in 23 overs. Malan scored a superlative century, hitting a brilliant 134 in 128 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes to his name.
