During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 Elite Group D game between Saurashtra and Baroda, an ugly incident happened as two of the most experienced cricketers of Indian domestic cricket, Sheldon Jackson and Ambati Rayudu got into a heated argument and had to be separated by the umpires and players.
Jackson, playing for Saurashtra, was batting for the side when the fight took place during the ninth over of the match. Baroda captain Rayudu seemingly made a remark to Jackson while fielding at the cover, which the Saurashtra keeper-batter didn’t take lightly.
The two charged toward each other only for the umpire to come in between and other players also intervened and separated the two before an untoward incident happened. According to the on-air commentator, the fight ensued after Rayudu expressed his displeasure at Jackson taking time to get ready to face the deliveries.

Meanwhile, Saurashtra captain Jaydev Unadkat won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mitesh Patel top-scored for Baroda with 60 off just 35 deliveries, while Vishnu Solanki also scored 51 off 33 balls as Baroda made 175/4 in 20 overs. Rayudu, unfortunately, got out for a golden duck as he was dismissed by Unadkat.
Apart from Rayudu and Unadkat, other Indian team players like Cheteshwar Pujara (Saurashtra), Krunal Pandya (Baroda), and Varun Aaron (Baroda) also featured in the match.
Saurashtra won the match by 4 wickets in the final over after Samarth Vyas made 97 and Jay Gohil with 17* took them past the finishing line. Krunal Pandya picked 2 wickets for Baroda.
