WATCH- MS Dhoni recreates famous 2016 moment while explaining a connection between 2011 World Cup win and Oreo launch

MS Dhoni's way of making the connection reminded people of T20 WC 2016 incident.

MS Dhoni and comparison of two press conferences | TwitterMS Dhoni is by far one of the wittiest cricketers and his answers and reactions to questions during the press conferences are legendary. His quick wit helped him avoid or deflect questions without the journalist feeling bad.

During a brand promotion, on Sunday, for Oreo biscuits, in which MS Dhoni announced the launch of the brand once again in India, the former India skipper called up a person from the audience present at the event and talked to him about the connection between the launching of Oreo and India winning the World Cup.

He recalled that Oreo was first launched in India in 2011 and the Men in Blue won the ODI World Cup that year at home under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. During the brand promotion, the veteran CSK player Dhoni linked the brand's previous launch and the World Cup win to the current scenario.

"Didn't feel MS Dhoni was our skipper until he lifted the trophy"- Harbhajan Singh recalls T20 WC 2007

He said "Oreo was launched in 2011 and India won the World Cup in 2011. This year there is another World Cup and if Oreo can launch again...," Dhoni paused while the crowd repeated, "India can win the World Cup again."

Dhoni further reflected other similarities between the 2011 World Cup winning time and the current time of launching the biscuit brand. He said that the team's jersey is also similar to the one in 2011 and his hairstyle is also similar to that of 2011, which indicates that India can win the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022.

Ashwin suggests a ‘bravery award’ for bowlers who run out batters at non-striker end for backing up too far

"Same jersey, same hairstyle. I am bringing back 2011, you also bring. Because to create history, we need to recreate history," the 2011 World Cup-winning captain said.

However, many keen-eyed cricket fans saw similarities between this conversation between MS Dhoni and that audience member at the dais to when Dhoni had pulled off such a thing during the T20 World Cup 2016 which was also played in India.

India had lost to West Indies in the semi-finals of the tournament in Mumbai and speculations were rife that Dhoni might call time on his cricketing career. During the press conference that day, Dhoni, India's limited-overs captain then, was his calm self; but deep inside, he was expecting a question about his retirement from one of the journalists.

When Australian journalist Samuel Ferris asked the said question, Dhoni called him up on the dais and had some fun with him while answering his question.
