Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh remember the late great Shane Warne on his 53rd birthday

Shane Warne | GettyShane Warne would have been 53 years old today on September 13, 2022, but we lost the great man to a heart attack on March 4 this year while he was vacationing in the Koi Samui Islands in Thailand. He received lots of tributes today including ones from Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh.

Tendulkar and Yuvraj, both played against the great man, with the Indian master blaster sharing great on-field rivalry and off-field friendship with the Australian bowling great who picked 293 ODI and 708 Test wickets in his career.

Warne was also the Man of the Match in the 1996 World Cup semi-final, the 1999 World Cup semi-final, and the final, as Australia won the tournament in England beating Pakistan in the final at Lord’s.

Remembering the Aussie legend on his birthday, Tendulkar took to Twitter and wrote, “Thinking of you on your birthday Warnie! Gone too soon. Had so many memorable moments with you. Will cherish them forever mate.”

Apart from Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh also shared his message for the master leg-spinner.

He posted: “Fondly remembering this great legend on his birth anniversary! A man who defined class and accuracy on the pitch through his zest for perfection! May you shine the brightest wherever you are mate.”
