Our very favorite Virat Kohli after hitting boundaries in the Asia cup 2022 is now ruling social media as well, as he became the first cricketer to reach 50 million followers on Twitter.
In Asia cup 2022, after a decent break, he came back with a blast becoming the second highest run-scorer in the tournament. Before the tournament, Kohli had revealed that he did not touch his bat for a month, which happened for the first time since he started playing professional cricket.
He also scored his maiden T20I century in India's last super 4s stage match against Afghanistan, scoring a record 122* in 61 balls with 12 fours and six sixes to his name. With this ton, he also became the second most century maker in international with 71 centuries, going past Ricky Ponting's record of 70 tons and now only behind Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 tons.

Kohli has been not only breaking records on the field but off the field as well, as he became the first cricketer on the social media platform Twitter to gain 50 million followers.
The star cricketer has 211 million followers on Instagram and 49 million Facebook fans bringing his total number of followers on social media to more than 310 million.
India will soon play against Australia in the three-match T20I series with the first match to be played in Mohali on 20th September.
