Jasprit Bumrah congratulates Kieron Pollard on becoming the first cricketer to play 600 T20 matches

Veteran West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard, On Monday (August 8), became the first cricketer to play in 600 T20 matches. Pollard achieved this milestone during the London Spirit vs Manchester Originals match in the ongoing The Hundred 2022 at Lord's.

On this occasion, the hard-hitting batter’s teammate in Mumbai Indians in the IPL and India’s leading speedster, Jasprit Bumrah, congratulated him on achieving the rare milestone in T20 cricket. 

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (August 9), Bumrah wrote: “600 games! What a milestone Amazing achievement for an amazing player! Congratulations Polly @KieronPollard55.”

The list of the players with the most appearances is followed by West Indies’ Dwayne Bravo (543), Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik (472), another West Indian, Chris Gayle (463), and England’s Ravi Bopara (426).

Meanwhile, Pollard made the occasion memorable by playing an unbeaten knock of 34 runs off just 11 balls laced with one four and four big sixes to help London Spirit beat Manchester Originals by 52 runs.

Notably, Pollard has so far scored 11,723 runs across 600 games at an average of 31.34 with the best score of 104. He has one century and 56 half-centuries to his name apart from 309 wickets with the best bowling figures of 4/15 in the shorter format of the game.

Pollard has represented Trinidad and Tobago and Trinbago Knight Riders in Caribbean Premier League (CPL), MI in the IPL, Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League (BBL), Dhaka Gladiators and Dhaka Dynamites in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League (PSL), etc in the domestic leagues across the world.
