Murali Vijay made his comeback to competitive cricket after a lengthy layoff in the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2022) where he is turning out for the Ruby Trichy Warriors team.
So far, he has done very nicely with the bat, scoring 224 runs in 4 matches including a century- 66-ball-121 with an astonishing record-breaking 12 sixes against Nellai Royal Kings a couple of weeks back.
However, in a recent match in the TNPL, while Vijay was fielding at the boundary, the crowd behind him started chanting the name of his Tamil Nadu and one-time India teammate Dinesh Karthik.
For those who don’t know yet, there is no love lost between the two cricketers as they share some history. Dinesh Karthik’s first wife Nikita Vanjara reportedly had an affair with Murali Vijay. This led to Karthik separating and divorcing Nikita, who then married Vijay.
A video in which supporters were seen yelling “DK…DK” in front of Murali Vijay during a recent TNPL game, has gone viral on social media.
In response, Vijay can be seen acknowledging them with folded hands and then making hand signals to tell them what they are doing and asking them to stop.
