Today, on March 18, 2022, entire India is celebrating the auspicious festival of Holi, which is also known as the festival of colors. The festival is celebrated by Hindus everywhere in the world, but the theme is popular across the world and now everyone seems to be catching on to the vibe of Holi.
The celebrations start on the night before with the Holika Dahan, where people perform rituals and pray before a bonfire, signifying the killing of Holika, the sister of the demon king Hiranyakashipu. The next morning is celebrated as Dhulivandan or the colorful Holi when people apply colors on one another and have fun.
