Kaif was slammed for crediting Rohit-Dravid for India's success over Kohli-Shastri | Twitter Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif came under heavy trolling after he hailed new Test captain Rohit Sharma and the new coach of Indian team Rahul Dravid for shaping up a world-beating unit under their leadership.

Rohit Sharma took over as India T20I and ODI captain from the New Zealand T20I series at home and then made his Test captaincy debut against Sri Lanka recently and whitewashed the visitors 2-0 in the series. This included a 238-run win in the second Test in Bengaluru which was a day-night encounter.

However, this tweet didn’t sit down well with cricket Twitter as they felt and criticized Mohammad Kaif for devaluing the work done by former captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri in the past seven years. The netizens panned Mohammad Kaif for not acknowledging the role of former leadership group of the team.

Same team was performing and winning under Kohli as well! Nothing new ! Real test would be overseas! Kohli and Shastri somehow failed to sack Pujara/Rahane over last 2-3 years despite their dismal performance! Ashwin was not used as well!

Sir, Test team was doing good all over the world ,if you can recall just few month's back we did well in Aus, and in Eng where we are leading currently. In SA also we won the first test and at home we have been great , Kohli haven't lost a series at home.

If you compare last couple of years, even Kohli has been performing as good as Rahane or Pujara.

But he can't be dropped like the other two and asked to go and play domestic cricket, only because of his stature.
