Former England batter Kevin Pietersen played a match-winning knock for World Giants in the Legends League Cricket (LLC) on Wednesday (January 26). He scored 86 runs off 38 deliveries as Giants defeated Asia Lions by 7 wickets.
Pietersen gave a solid start as the Giants completed the run-chase of 150 runs in just 13 overs. Smashing 9 fours and 7 sixes, he added 78 runs from boundaries only.

On Thursday, the ex-England cricketer shared the highlights of his knock on social media and wrote, “#AboutLastNight if you have a minute!”.
In the only over bowled by Sanath Jayasuriya, Pietersen smashed 30 runs including three fours and an equal number of sixes.
Bengal cricketer Shreevats Goswami told Pietersen to come out of retirement and participate in the Indian Premier League. To which, the 41-year-old joked that his price and performance would embarrass the modern players.
"Get back in to the ipl mate,” wrote Goswami. Pietersen replied, “I’d be too expensive and would probably end up being the top scorer in the league. It would embarrass all the modern day players!”.
