India cricketer Krunal Pandya's Twitter account was compromised on Thursday (January 27). The hackers made a few offensive tweets while also inviting people to buy the account by paying in Bitcoins.

The hacker retweeted a tweet at around 7:31 am (IST) which thanked Krunal for the follow. It was the first suspicious activity on his account before several tweets were posted tagging different Twitter handles.

One of the posts read, "Selling this account for bitcoins" along with a wallet address. "Send me bitcoin," they added in another tweet.

Earlier, Twitter accounts of billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates were among many prominent figures targeted by hackers. Even the official accounts of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Kanye West have also requested donations in the cryptocurrency after being compromised.

Krunal couldn't find a spot in India's T20I or ODI squad for the series against West Indies. He will now be waiting for the IPL 2022 mega-auction, which is scheduled to be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.
