Bangladesh had created history by beating the hosts in the 1st Test at Mount Maunganui.

Ross Taylor had announced his retirement from cricket before the Bangladesh Test series, which was his last in whites for the Kiwis. He will continue for a couple of limited-overs series more at home, especially against Australia, before calling it time finally.

Taylor, who made his Test debut in 2007 against South Africa ends up with 7683 runs in 112 Tests at an average of 44.66. He hit 19 centuries and 35 fifties with the best score of 290 coming against Australia at Perth. He also took 163 catches and captained New Zealand for short period as well.

He ended his Test career by picking a wicket to wrap up the Bangladesh second innings and earning his team a well-deserved win by an innings and 117 runs.

As Ross Taylor drew curtains on his 15-year Test career, he received an emotional farewell from his teammates and also from the cricket fraternity on social media.
