"Really soaked in all Kapil paaji traits," Tendulkar lauds Ranveer's performance in the movie '83'

The movie '83' is based on India's 1983 World Cup win in England under Kapil Dev's captaincy.

India's legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar lauded Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh for his brilliant performance in the movie '83', based on India's 1983 World Cup win. Ranveer is in the lead role and he has portrayed the then India captain Kapil Dev in the movie, which is directed by Kabir Khan.

Tendulkar posted a tweet on Wednesday (January 5) and wrote that Ranveer has done well in soaking all the traits of Kapil in the movie. The Bollywood star reacted to the praise from the India cricket great and thanked him for the kind words.

"A brilliant ‘all-round’ display by @RanveerOfficial in 83. Really soaked in all the @therealkapildev paaji traits to make us reminisce the iconic moments of our first-ever World Cup victory. I know the win really inspired the little boy," tweeted Sachin. 

Ranveer responded to the tweet and wrote, "And then the little boy went on to inspire generations! Thank you, Master! This means everything!".

Actress Deepika Padukone is part of the cast as Kapil's wife - Romi. Renowned actor Pankaj Tripathi also features in the movie and he has played the role of team manager P.R. Man Singh.
