SA v IND 2021-22: ‘Learn to take it kid’, Steyn advises Bumrah after latter’s heated confrontation with Marco Jansen

Bumrah and Jansen shared a heated exchange in the 54th over of India's second innings.

Jasprit Bumrah and Marco Jansen's confrontation | GettyAfter Jasprit Bumrah’s heated confrontation with Proteas bowler Marco Jansen in the ongoing Johannesburg Test, South African pace legend Dale Steyn advised the Indian pacer to ‘learn to take it’.

Bumrah and Jansen shared a heated exchange in the 54th over of India's second innings when the former couldn't connect properly on a short delivery from the latter. During the confrontation, both of them came close to each other mid-pitch before the on-field umpire stepped in to ease the tension.

"I swear I remember Bumrah doing the same thing to a Mr James Anderson not too long ago. Learn to take it kid," Steyn wrote in reply to a Tweet that read: "That look from Marco at Bumrah. Yep, if you dish it out you will receive it."

Bumrah scored 7 runs, including a six off Kagiso Rabada, in India’s second innings before being dismissed by Lungi Ngidi.

Coming to the match, India posted 266/10 in their second innings to set a challenging target of 240 for the Proteas in the fourth innings. Ajinkya Rahane (58), Cheteshwar Pujara (53), and Hanuma Vihari (40) were the notable contributors with the bat for the visitors.

Chasing the target, the hosts scored 118/2 at the close of play on Day 3, with captain Dean Elgar (46*) and Rassie van der Dussen (11*) unbeaten in the middle.
