Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has announced his retirement from international cricket. Hafeez played 55 Tests, 218 ODIs, and 119 T20Is for Pakistan in his 18-year long career.
South Africa great Dale Steyn congratulated Hafeez on a wonderful career and recalled their battles on the field which he is going to cherish forever. Steyn used to trouble the Pakistan batter a lot in their face-offs.

"Many a great battle with this man, end of the day, we had the best time and memories we can enjoy forever! Congratulations on a wonderful international career!
"Inspired your nation and played the game the right way, well done ???? @MHafeez22," tweeted the former Proteas pacer.
Last year in interaction with fans on social media, Steyn had refused to call Hafeez his 'bunny', although he got him out numerous times in international cricket.
"Early years I enjoyed bowling against NZ, I took plenty poles against them but over time they’ve have become a real force. Bunny is slightly bad term to use because I’m good friends with him, but I got M. Hafeez out on more than a few occasions," he had tweeted.
Hafeez had announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2018 and he continued playing limited-overs cricket. He featured in the 2021 T20 World Cup, which was his last appearance for Pakistan.
