Australia captain Aaron Finch is raring to take the field for Melbourne Renegades in the ongoing Big Bash League 2021-22 (BBL 11) after leading the national side to the maiden T20 World Cup 2021 last month.
Finch has not played since leading Australia in the final of the T20 World Cup 2021 against New Zealand in Dubai.
He has undergone rehabilitation and is ready to go out and perform for Melbourne Renegades in the ongoing BBL 2021-22 after missing the opening three matches to recover from a knee injury.
He will return to BBL action in Melbourne Renegades’ next BBL 11 clash against Perth Scorchers at Marvel Stadium on Wednesday (December 22). The opener sounded confident after hitting the nets on Monday, December 20.

In a video clip shared by Melbourne Renegades on Twitter, Finch said: “I'll play (on Wednesday). I'll hit a lot of balls over in the next couple of days but all's feeling good at the moment. I trained the other day. I haven't done a huge amount of running or anything, but I batted and felt pretty good. I'll have a good solid hit-out today and a decent field.”
He signed off by saying, “We pushed really hard to get back (for the World Cup) and that was a risk well worth taking. It just probably needed a little bit more time and from the end of the World Cup to now, there's been a good month of rehab into (my knee) which has helped.”
