Hardik Pandya, the ace India all-rounder, posted a workout video of himself doing various exercises in order to get himself fully fit in order to make a return to cricket. Pandya, who last played for India in the T20 World Cup 2021, has reportedly taken a break from the game to focus on fitness.
As per reports, he recently asked the BCCI selectors to not consider him for international cricket for some time, as he wanted to get back to 100% fitness before making a triumphant comeback.
Pandya, who suffered a debilitating back injury in 2018, underwent back surgery and despite making his cricketing return, suffered from back and shoulder injuries which hampered his ability to discharge his role as a true all-rounder in full form.
The Baroda-born cricketer had stopped bowling in order to manage his back injury and even played two editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020 and 2021) as a pure batter while playing sporadically for the Indian team and barely bowled for the Men in Blue.
IPL 2022: WATCH - "Mumbai Indians will remain in my heart forever," says Hardik Pandya
He hasn’t played Test cricket since the 2018 tour of England owing to his inability to put a load on his back and recently, was dealing with a sore shoulder in IPL 2021 and subsequently in the T20 World Cup 2021 as well, leading to him pulling himself out of contention for the Indian team.
Not only this, Hardik Pandya, who was an integral part of the Mumbai Indians setup since 2015, wasn’t retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
He posted a new video of himself working out on his Instagram account and doing weight training and planking, with a caption reading, “Renewed, rejuvenated, reloading.” His video also mentioned that Kung Fu Pandya will be back soon.
His video received fire emojis reactions from his wife Natasa Stankovic and elder brother Krunal Pandya as well.
