"I'll carry these memories with me for the rest of my life, I'll carry these moments with me for the rest of my life. The friendships I've made, the bonds that have been formed, the people, the fans, I'll always be grateful. I've grown not just as a player but as a person.

"I came here as a youngster with big dreams - we won together, we lost together, we fought together. Every moment with this team has a special place in my heart. They say all good things must end but @mumbaiindians will remain in my heart forever," Hardik captioned the post.

MI's Director of Cricket Operations, Zaheer Khan had said they will look to bring back several players at the auction from their previous squad. “It's not the end of the road. There's still a chance we will get a lot of them back, so that's the way we look at it.

“It has been a heartbreaking scenario for sure but all teams have to go through this journey. We're no exception to that. As a professional player, you understand the dynamics of franchise cricket. (And as a franchise) You tend to do the best in such a scenario," he said.
