Shreyas Iyer has an amazing start to his Test career for India, as he smoked a century on debut against New Zealand on the ongoing first Test in Green Park, Kanpur. Iyer had come into the team after KL Rahul was ruled out of the series due to a muscle strain.
Shreyas Iyer resumed his innings of day two from 75 runs and ended up with 105 with 13 fours and 2 sixes to his name. Apart from him Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja made fifties as India conjured 345 in their first innings.
Tim Southee picked 5/69, while Kyle Jamieson took three and Ajaz Patel took 2 wickets respectively.
Iyer received wishes from the cricket fraternity on his debut century, including one from Rohit Sharma, who had also scored a century on debut, against the West Indies in 2013 in Kolkata, making 177 runs.

Rohit, in fact, shared a hilarious dance video of himself, Shreyas Iyer, and Shardul Thakur dancing to the popular Bollywood song “Ek Shehri Babu”.
The video shows Iyer taking the lead in dancing, while Shardul and Rohit dance in the background, with the current India T20I captain struggling to match steps with Iyer.
