South Africa's legendary cricketer AB de Villiers on Friday (November 19) announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He was active in T20 leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), after retiring from international cricket.
De Villiers thanked Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans for their support over the years and said he's going to be an 'RCBian' for life. The 37-year-old was loved by the Indian fans which he admitted in his video message and said he is half Indian now.

“I’m going to be an RCBian for life. Every single person in the RCB set-up has become family to me. People come & go, but the spirit & the love we have for each other at RCB will always remain. I’ve become half Indian now and I’m proud of that," he said.
RCB made a post for De Villiers after the news of his retirement and wrote that the franchise is going to miss him, and expressed their gratitude for his contribution.
"End of an era! ???? There’s nobody like you, AB. We’ll miss you dearly at RCB. ❤️ For all that you’ve done and given to the team, to the fans, and to cricket lovers in general, #ThankYouAB ???????? Happy retirement, legend!", the tweet read.
De Villiers played 156 matches for Bangalore in IPL and he scored 4, 491 runs. He is the second most runs scorer behind Virat Kohli for RCB.
