United States of America (USA) batsman Jaskaran Malhotra entered the elite list of batsmen to hit 6 sixes in an over. He became only the fourth batsman to hit 6 sixes in an over in international cricket after smashing Papua New Guinea's Gaudi Toka for 36 runs on Thursday (September 9).

Before Jaskaran, only Yuvraj Singh, Herschelle Gibbs, and Kieron Pollard had smacked 6 sixes in an over. The USA batsman hit sixes on both sides as he also completed his 150 runs in the final over of the innings. He overtook AB de Villiers' 162 for the highest ODI score by a player batting at No. 5.

The USA were struggling at 72/4 after 19.2 overs, but Jaskaran played a game-changing knock and added unbeaten 173 runs on 124 deliveries. He hit overall 16 sixes in his innings to help the USA score a total of 271/9.

In reply, Papua New Guinea could only manage 137 runs in 37.1 overs and lost the match by 134 runs. With this win, America sealed the two-match ODI series 2-0. They had won the first match by 7 wickets.
