New Zealand is scheduled to tour Pakistan for the first time after their last visit to the country since 2003-04 for a three-match ODI and a five-match T20I series.

Ahead of this limited-overs series, Pakistan's left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has tested Covid-19 positive and has been quarantined for 10 days. Nawaz was part of the 15-member Pakistan squad that is due to take on New Zealand from September 17 to October 3.

Mohammad Nawaz has tested positive for Covid-19 and has been quarantined as per the PCB Covid-19 Protocols," said Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a statement.

As far as New Zealand’s limited-overs tour is concerned, the three ODIs will be played on September 17, 19, and 21 in Rawalpindi followed by a five-match T20I series which will be played in Lahore on September 25, 25, 29, October 1, and 3.

The series also came into the spotlight as the Decision Review System (DRS) which is one of the common aspects in any international matches or franchise-based tournaments will not be the case in New Zealand’s upcoming white-ball tour due to the non-availability of an approved provider for the technology.

While talking about not having DRS, a source revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the producers/broadcasters of the series could not find an approved provider of the technology required to run the system during the tour.

The member boards can only have DRS technology providers who are approved by the International Cricket Council, a source clarified. He said the DRS technology will be available for the two T20Is against England in October in Lahore.
